S.O.S God, i am under spiritual attack (again)
was my msn nick on thursday after i prayed. because this is exactly how i felt, being attacked by unseen forces, penetrating into the stronghold of my thoughts. i shall name him d. d came and talked to me during my prayer. initially i thought He came but soon after a few words, i felt something amiss. although the voice is same but the 'presence' is different. i could hardly remember what we said. ( i deduce that this is because only His word has life and stays.)
i was questioned why i did not complete my fast on wednesday. ( i broke fast at 12am instead of 6am. i was hungry and freezing cold ok. fasting in autumn is a real test. i wonder how it will be like in winter.) so i asked him if he would forgive. no answer. i asked again. no answer ( this silence is followed by the idea of 'do not ask me again or else something bad is going to happen to you' thought.) almost instantaneously i asked him, " who are you? are you LORD?" no reply. i knew instantaneously that he is not He but d.
immediately when i realised that, there was a attack, a confusion, a panic, a disguesting feeling, everything but peace. bind the spirit i did, followed by cramping of my fingers and toes. i almost broke down mentally and i supposed i could have gotten hyperventilation (fit) but in the end we won. ( i could not imagine if i had lost.
the reason why i know is d and not Him.
simple, our LORD is a great God and He forgives easily. and with Him, there is peace. even during a discipleship, He will rebuke me but yet at the same time assuring me that it is for my good. d, he knows and does nothing of that. the best he can do is to imitate His voice. thank you LORD.
someone asked, if God is good, why did He let this happen?
i do not know but i can roughly guess
because of this spiritual attack, i found myself making the effort to chat with chenguang over the msn for a longer time. through the chat, i know he cares about me more than i know. also, i have found another soldier in christ.
because of this spiritual attack, i am back early in my dormitory the next day ( tiredness and slight confusion) and i manage to find the information i need for my project.
because of this spiritual attack, God opened a conversation opportunity between me and John (yes over msn) when i came back early in my dormitory. we shared our vision, calling and spiritual experience with God. this is something amazing to me because this is our first time, usually we talk about work and design. in the end we get the opportunity to pray for one another.
because of this spiritual attack, seung hwan came into my room. and at the time, a phone call from the security came. it was in korean and i could not understand it. so i passed the phone to seung hwan and guess what! my parcel from singapore has just arrived!
praise the Lord.
so learn that He is good and do not be quick to complain whenever you meet with something bad. because everything happens for a reason.

revelation from my room mate - salvation is like waking up from a deep sleep
a sleeper wakes up by himself. he leaves his nightmares and fantasies behind him, knowing his place in reality - perfect
however in most cases, waking need prompting because sleep is pleasurable.
hence, he will only be allowed himself to be disrupted from his sleep when time is right. he will wake up and appreciate and love the one who wakes him.
when he is found in deep sleep, it is best not to wake him up but wait. for he will wake up a grumpy person, feeling annoyed at the one who inisisted. in most cases, he will fall back into his sleep and not wake up any sooner.
what is to be done? let him sleep a little longer so that timing would be right. however watch over him and protect him because he is vulnerable to his immediate surrounding while he is asleep. be like the seven dwarfs who protect snow white. seven dwarfs represent seven days in a week and seven temptation to sins.
pull him up immediately when he is seen fidgeting because he is experiencing a bad dream. rescue him before he is devoured by his nightmares. he wants out.

on this sunday.tina invited us over to her place for a mini chusok celebration. it was a great experience, we helped to make the rice cake (song pyun) and prepare some dish. it was a spread. (it has to be, it is a korean tradition to fill the table with food for the guest.) we had food and plum wine, shuyi get to wear hanbok and 'play' korean instrument. lastly, tina's mum invited us to ktv which is just below their house! it was an enjoyable day. thank you.

break time
i went out with korean friends for a korean movie, duelist. it was supposed to be a comedy. however it did not turn out that funny. ok perhaps i did not know anything that was being said on screen. anyway since i could not make out what they were saying, i had to rely on their body languages and soundtrack.
the outcome - a profound movie indeed.
it is a romance comedy. comedy aside, it is a love story between a policewoman and an assassin. like any typical korean movie, they cannot be together because of their background. therefore, the nonly time they can be together is through a series of sword fights. actually at the later scenes, i think the whole routine seems more like a sword dance, anyway it is simply breath taking. the soundtrack is funky and modern it seems. there are electric guitar, piano, volin, saxophone etc.
after movie, we went for dinner. i finally get what i wish for - sam gyup sal.
the pictures say all. look at the lard. yummy!!
it is a pity i did not take a group picture with the guys. too preoccupied with eating i guess. well there will be a next time!

early in the morning at 7am, we went to korea immigration building to do our "alien" pass. it was a close to 3 hr journey there and another 3 hr back. in the end we reached our afternoon history lecture only to catch them leaving the lecture room. 
so here by the lake i sat in the pavilion, waiting for the next lecture. this day would be remembered as the day i was called by the korean as the 'gentle singaporean'.

(why he asked this i do not know. perhaps due to the fact that he speaks little english?)
