10 Things to remember this holiday...

1) The Case of someone you know
If you have noticed at my tag board, there is this guy named someone you know and he has got a few of us guessing who he is. Gosh... reveal yourself already.

2) Cigarette
My student ask me to buy cigarette for him. WTF! Are you out of your mind.

3) Colour of hair
I saw my beloved student of 2E3, not one day but two days consecutively and guess what caught my attention? His nice dyed hair. Golden yellow. Hmm nice but time to dye it back!!

4) Concerning hair too
This time it was one of the art students in JWSS. A good looking chap with the 'mallet' hair style, complete with a few shave at the side. Cool! But school's opening! Grow it back already.

5) Dota
Played Dota til sian. Not very good, but not very numb. But quickly getting bored of it. School's starting, stop playing.

6) H1N1 flu
School holiday not extended. Hmm... Yipee!!

7) Piercing
Heard of a few students getting new ear, face, mouth, tongue, whatever piercing. My advice, do it where it look nice. You don't want to walk around looking like a lost tribal barbarian lost in time!!! Oh did I mention about a girl that turned blind after piercing her ear? Ops!

8) Singles' Meeting
My church organise a singles' meeting code word: Happy Hour for the singles in church. Guess who turn up. Next please...

9) Sister-girlfriend
If you see a girl with short hair walking beside me that looks almost like my girlfriend, learn this. She is my sister, not my girlfriend, yes we look not alike and we are too close as siblings but who cares. If I have a girlfriend, I would have told you.

I have not been blogging for a long time.
It seems that the insomnia that I had made the perfect opportunity for me to blog.
I was supposed to go swimming but I guess it would be too much for my tired body to do. Safety first so I decided to give it a miss.

So what have I been busy with...

I went shopping and caught movie with my friend, a male primary school teacher, haha sorry to disappoint you. we watched two great movies that day- The Taking of Pelham 123 and Ghosts of Girlfriends past. Two awesome movies which I would like to recommend to you guys but then now Transformers 2 is out and Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince is making its way to the theatre, maybe you want to save up for them. Even my sister who is not a transformers fan commented that transformers 2 is good, surely it is a must watch. Ok where was I, oh shopping, ya buy nice t-shirt and shorts from TopMen, one of the few stores that seems to have my size. XS.

Hmm... ok then I went to Shaun's birthday chalet with Wen Hao and Bing Huang. There were also his family, his church friends, his sister's friends. We spent three days there. It was good fun, I almost forgot I am babysitting them. ops! Together with his friend we caught a midnight movie, drag me to hell. seriously if you ask me how is it.... simply boring, almost want to sleep in the theater. Bad plot, bad story line and bad effect. It was so bad it was funny. The constant screaming from the guys and the theatre did not help to make me think otherwise. Anyway, let's move on.

We cycled and to a faraway lost land (I wish) at Changi beach. There the guys decided to dig hole to find crab. We found some nice stuff, starfish, bottles, seashells... What a week!!

Insomnia, I had yesterday, I just could not fall asleep.

It must have been the last cup of Coffee Bean latte I took yesterday.

Just then I remember the single cruel fact, my body has simply grown old and now it is totally sensitive to caffeine. (for I had something like this earlier this year but totally forgot about it)

So I just close my eyes, desperately trying to sleep.

Tick Tock Tick Tock... 1am, 2am, 3am.. not much sleep

I laid there on the bed with my eyes shut, trying my best to relax.

Nope, no counting of sheeps this time, I think it will only make me more awake.

Before long, I began to slip into the dream world....

MOE wrote to inform me a change of my teaching subject. It will be Art (unchanged) and Maths (lower sec) and I was like what!~ I'm so totally clueless as to how to teach Maths. I think I only know simple algebra and that's it. And on top of it how am I going to make it as interesting as my art lesson?

But I know God will have a way. His way is higher than mine mah, so I guess He will tell me lah. Then His glory will show. ( I think only Christians will understand what I mean)

I love to talk to people who are humble, have a strong sense of integrity and a serving heart. It is a difficult requirement yes but let's increase our standard for a higher call.
No hokkien vulgarities or any form of vulgarities in other dialect please. Totally demeaning (low class)

I was so amazed by the sec 2 boys yesterday, especially Zhi Leong and Zhen Hong. Simply awesome, especially at the way they organise and put everything together just to make sure that there is order in the disordered environment.

Let's put it this way, the sec 1s are like the typical sec 1s, lost and indecisive ( which sometimes can irritate me to the core, but hey they are still young; still 'evolving') and this always lead to unconfirmed number of people who are going to show up. So without having the confirmed number of attendees, not to mention the number of late comers, the lack of amount of cash collected and the serious lack of time (movie starting in 5 minutes), these two guys just proceed to purchase the tickets with one and only intention - they are going to make this outing works.

The level of focus and servant attitude is so strong within them that they are so prepared to give up their tickets so that others can go in to watch. At the end of the day, both of them absorbed most of the cost because they thought it was a gentlemanly thing to give those girls a treat. Beside that, they even purchase snacks and drinks for all of 13 of them.

Amazing huh! Man, we need leaders like them today for greater tomorrow. God bless them.

Today is a working day for me. I reached school at 9:30am to open the art room for the art students. Then I went to work on my banner design. I'm supposed to do a banner for the Sec2 Streaming Meeting. Anyway I'm glad Yuan Kiat and Hong Wei came over to school to help me with the painting and I'm 90% done I guess. I'm left with the critical 10% that is necessary to make the banner better. Hopefully, God will give me an idea by tomorrow. After that, we went to Jurong Point to have Mac Flurry. Nice.

Meanwhile the lyrics, chinawine, chinawine, chinawine from the song "Chinawine" keeps on repeat itself in my mind. All thanks to Yuan Kiat who kept playing the song over and over again. Hmm it is a dance track by our local artist Sun Ho. Just type "Chinawine" in YouTube to check out the video. Cool man

Wow Sunday was fun.
I had Dota in the morning alone, then went for church service with Yuan Kiat, Hong Wei and Jia Jun, then after that we went to Boon Lay to get my black cloth for banner. Then had Dota again with them.
After Dota, we went to play basketball. Aiya me no good, keep missing my 3 points shoot. I must brush up my skills. Teck Ru is good! He got this "don't care" attitude but still get the ball in.
After basketball, we went to KFC for dinner. Enzo called and guess what, I had dota again.
4 Dota in a day, think I had enough. Wanna puck... end

What do you do during a holiday?
I watched movie two in fact because the first one was quite disappointing.
The first one I watched at
FilmGarde, located at the new Iluma at Bugis.
I was quite a good experience. In fact it was probably due to the fact that I'm the one and only one in the entire theatre. So with only $8.50, I get the whole theatre to myself. Ha Ha. But the movie is not-so-good. "Monsters vs Aliens" was the movie I watched. In my opinion, it was very very lame. Not funny. After the success of Kung Fu Panda, I'm expecting more but no. Lame Lame Lame.

So the thirst for movie continue and I had to catch another one to ease this tingling discomfort within me. That was when my sister told me she wanted to watch "Night at the Museum 2". Cool. Someone told me it was nice. We watched it at Golden Village at Bugis. It was not too bad. But I guess I won't watch it again.

Now I'm waiting for the 2 blockbusters, Transformer 2 and Harry Potter. Meanwhile I may want to catch up with Angels & Demons and Terminator Salvation while waiting. I just hope I can once again get a theatre to myself. Totally owning.

art work found in Raffles Institution

I went to Raffles Junior College yesterday with my sister. Well she asked me to accompany her there for her ACCA examination. On the other hand, it would be a good pay my art teacher a visit at RJC. It was a good day. I went around the school snapping photos. It was my second visit but this time, I have more time to myself for it was a 3 hr paper. SO snap snap snap. Nice combination of White, Black and Green. It has this nice stylistic look with a touch of 'old englishness' in the building. Nice.

I got excited and thought I'll just explore Raffles Institution too. (I'm called to that school!) It was amazing. Some part of the school looks like movie sets from Harry Potter. I approached a student to look for the art room. He looked lost then explained to me that there was no art room but there is a building called the Art Space. It was a building dedicated to music, theatre and art studies. Awesome.

Finally it was time to leave when suddenly the word Raffles Institution caught my eye. These were the words at the front gate of RJC. Somehow the Lord has brought my attention to these word. If you have been following my post, you would know that I'm called to teach in Raffles Institution but this time this is something which I've never really considered. There seems to be a prompting that Raffles Institution does not just imply the secondary level as I've always know, but also the Tertiary level now. Hmm... I'm baffled. It feels like a whole new revelation and yet I'm not very sure. It was just a funny feeling at that moment. But I guess time will tell.
