reliving high school days...
the week is getting uninteresting (refer to kenn's blog). hence ting ting, irene and me decided to do something crazy. yes! attempting to dress up as high school students. not bad hor.
irene the posh one, me the cute one and ting ting the pretty one. hahaha
oh ting ting is in pink because she is the monitress. do you know the 'pretty but do little work and depend heavily on the monitor' kind of monitress? i think she is that kind. haha
hurry! hurry! time to go back to class...........

dear Father,
it has been such a long time since my last letter. it has also been a long time since You came to chat with me. i miss you dearly and those dry days are terrible to bear. why have you left me in crete? why am i here to suffer? the constant pressure from both side. terrible.
Father, you know i am not here to complain. i am here to show you my difficulties. "give all your problems to God," they told me. yes, but when my burden is given by You, do i give them back to you?
i know i am weak and You know i am. i do not try to be strong because i know i am not. i am thankful that i am blessed with gifts, so that i may be strong. just a mortal here, waiting to serve and not to be served.
i am thankful for the friends you have positioned in my life.

second shock from the test and more.....
history of western architecture
a totally traumatic experience
written in the instruction heading, "choose the correct word to fill in the blanks".
"erm.. professor? where are the helping words?"
wrong choice of word i guess but when he say choose during the class, naturally we thought there should be a box with lots of helping words for use to choose to fill in the blank. i guess we are all wrong.
a contradictory experience
western history is an easy test because it is set in format that requires pure memorisation
but because it is a pure test of memorisation, it is so difficult.
the last and finally horrific experience ( i hope )
it is construction management test
we are all given an a3 size paper to write our answer on.
at the header there are boxes for us to fill in our names, date, subject paper no etc.
but, there are all in korean!

conversation in the library
minho (korean), yuxun and me studied in the school library our mid term test.
the atmosphere was tensed as we tried to mug through our indivdual modules.
minho sticked out of his reading divider to catch my attention.
"kenrus..?""yes"
"why is yuxun always sleeping? i always see him sleeping...???"
"i don't know, he is just beside you, why don't you ask him?"
"i know but i can't."
"why"
"because he is now asleep (again)!"
the falling asleep habit is getting bad.
most of the time we found ourselves becoming victim of the curse.
to win the sleeping war, we must know our enemy.
i have come up with a list of reasons
1) change of season - dry and cold at time, too nice to study.
2) cold weather - inability to do outdoor sports. freeze to death in those skimmy wear.
3) hot sun - autumn is a hot environment frequently visited by piercing chill wind. i think heat plays a part in this sleeping phenomenon.
4) absence of air con system - cool environment yes, ventilation no!
5) absence of large opening - for obvious reason, to keep out the cold (and oxygen too).
6) too much fabric - clothings do play a part, these comfortable cotton sweaters and scarfs which resemble pyjamas and blankets are also responsible!
7) too much carbo intake - rice, their staple food, too much carbo makes one tired.
8) coffee not strong - strong coffee please!
9) bad lighting - do you know that there is report on korean subway lighting? apparently the bad light quality are responsible for making their passenger tired.
10) working overnight - the whole idea of working overnight does not make sense to me, so are you telling me you are working hard on both day and night, without sleeping? in most cases, i've observed people struggling after midnight and sleeping when the clock struck 6am in the morning. so at the end of the day - limited work done. come on. night is for sleeping!
the list is not complete. there should be more.

i am seriously shocked to death to be asked this question.
i am unapologetic to reveal this to all because i am terribly disappointed of the source of where this question comes from. from not an ordinary gentile but one that is not.
i did not know what to answer then but i know now,

my trip to the salon is an exciting one. not for the fact that i cannot understand or explain the style i want but for the fact that seung hwan is there to constantly take picture of my hair cutting process!
the feeling is weird: to have korean hairdresser washing your hair in a korean salon and at the same time being photographed by a korean friend.
the all time favourite: ok i promised her that i will tell my Singaporean friends that hair cut in korean is safe, great and cheap. wash and cut for only 5000 won, about $8

4) irene and ting ting had their 22nd and 21st birthday celebration respectively
5) singaporean students are mostly exploited for project presentation. ops!
6) woke up early in the morning for korean - english tutoring exchange program.
7) followed by heavy breakfast, the result after 5 days - 2kg gain in weight!
8) yes i teach english. surprise surprise!
9) my korean friend bathed beside me while i was brushing my teeth in a large empty space called toilet.
10) my roommate has a frog for pet!
